All I Really Need to Know I Learned in a Pandemic

a person wearing a costumeAs 2020 winds down, it is inevitable that we see countless lists like Best Things to Happen in 2020, Worst Things to Happen in 2020, and Ten Things I Can’t Believe Happened in 2020. We all agree 2020 was like no other in our lifetime. We all changed, and we all discovered strengths and weaknesses that we didn’t realize we had.

Reflecting back on a most extraordinary year, I present my list for 2020.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned in a Pandemic

  • I learned that I’m more of an entrepreneur than a tour operator.
  • I learned that relationships built during the good times are invaluable when times are tough.
  • I learned that switching gears isn’t as difficult as I thought it was.
  • I learned that people can adapt to just about anything.
  • I learned that a little creativity goes a long way.
  • I learned that teamwork really does make the dream work.
  • I learned that it’s never too late to make new friends.
  • I learned that it’s never too late to try something new.
  • I learned that the strong survive.

We would be remiss if we failed to thank all of you for your loyal support during 2020. Your kind words and thoughtful reviews give us the confidence to continue to move forward. We can only hope that we can soon return to some sort of normalcy filled with laughter, hugs, and breaking bread together at our favorite restaurants. In the meantime, we will take the skills that we learned during the pandemic, especially those of flexibility, determination, creativity, and collaboration, and apply them to projects for 2021. We promise a whole new world of fun at-home and in-person experiences as we continue to support our small business partners.
