Food Tour Makes a Great Family Field Trip

We were reunited this week with a family we first met in 2012 on one of our Taste the World at Findlay Market tours. Mom was visiting from the Philippines, and the market tour served as an introduction to Cincinnati culture and history. When Mom made her annual visit this year, the family was anxious to return for our Over-the-Rhine tour.

We started our tour with a tri-tip slider and a local beer at Taft’s Ale House before posing for the above photo in the Bell Tower. Next stop was Quan Hapa. Comparing the Okonomiyaki to other familiar Asian food was fun. (Verdict: Quan Hapa’s Okonomiyaki was delicious!) Next we popped into Macaron Bar, of special interest because one of the family members is a professional baker. Our fourth stop was at Revolution Rotisserie, where owner Nick Pesola presented a small feast of American comfort food. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was our final sample from Sweet Petit Desserts, a perfect ending for a “family that loves their sweets.”

A pleasant walk. Good conversation. Wonderful food. The tour ended with hugs, but there were no goodbyes. Instead, a smile, a wave, and a “See you next time!” And I know we will.
